Abstract: The aim of this article is to provide a theoretical and methodological substantiation of the security imperative as a structural factor shaping the contemporary model of international economic relations under conditions of global turbulence, military conflicts, and geoeconomic fragmentation. The study applies methods of conceptual analysis, comparative assessment of liberal and security-oriented models of international economic relations, systematization of trade, investment, and financial policy instruments, and logical modeling of transformation processes. It is substantiated that security is no longer perceived as an external constraint on economic interaction but has become an imperative determining the configuration of international trade, investment flows, technological exchange, and countries’ participation in global value chains. The article demonstrates that wars, hybrid threats, sanctions regimes, and geoeconomic fragmentation cause a transition from the logic of maximizing efficiency towardprioritizing resilience, reliability of supply, and strategic autonomy. It is proved that digitalization has an ambivalent impact on international economic relations: on the one hand, it enhances efficiency and integration of economic entities into global markets; on the other hand, it generates new cyber and financial risks that require the institutionalization of economic security management mechanisms. The study concludes that the security-oriented model of international economic relations is becoming a stable feature of the modern global economy and necessitates a revision of traditional approaches to formation of the economic policy of countries.
